sterile couples

sterile couples

The work examines the fragile relationship between fertility, control, and ecological loss in a world shaped by human intervention. The central figure—an exaggerated, flexing body—projects strength, dominance, and self-assertion, echoing socially constructed ideals of power and productivity. Yet this display of vitality exists within a landscape marked by erosion, erasure, and silence. The title Sterile Couples operates both literally and metaphorically. It reflects biological infertility, as well as emotional and cultural sterility—relationships reduced to mere performance rather than an emotion.
